but there are a number of references in 62751 - enclosure in 2 on that file, paragraph 1;

the Far East Aviation Company enclosed in 13

on that file; and the reference in the Air Ministry memorandum (23).

Police Department. Increase $191,883, including provision of $100,000 for a Cruising Launch. The increase is also explained in part by the increase of personal emoluments, chiefly due to the rapid development of Kowloon (p.10 of the Colonial Secretary's speech).

Medical Department. Increase $239,261 includingover $100,000 on personal emoluments. For explanation see pages 11 to 13 of the Colonial Secretary's speech.

33.(B). Hong Kong Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.

This is a new head. AK.M.V.R. was proposed at the time of the 1927 Estimates, but after due consideration the Secretary of State decided that in view of the existing trade depression, and the special expenditure involved in the construction of the aerodrome, he was unable to sanction to the expenditure. He informed the Governor, however, that he was at liberty, if he so desired, to consider the matter further in connection with the 1928 Estimates. The matter was not
